As an independant installer I personally give upto 6 months cover for dishes and 12 months for effective lnbs etc. Its a very hard one to call as some locations are worse than others for wind and water damage. E.g on top of high hill or in a valley, near a beach etc where dish will rot due to the salt in the air.

Dishes arent usually covered for wind damage usually for wind's exceeding 75mph but again how does one perceive how windy it was there so I take each job on a one per one basis, and usually do whatever I can for free or a small callout fee usually to cover milage costs.

No probs...personally if dishes are fitted properly then theres no reason they should be damaged unless situated near a beach or hit with a football....or galeforce winds which are an act of god...but goodwill to your customers always mean they will recommend you in my opinion

I actually went out to a house once and it took me about 1o minutes of walking around the house before I finally located the dish. It was located in the most well hidden spot possible but a complete nitemare to get to, so god knows what he paid to get it originally installed as it was a neat job.

Anyway I was shocked to see the arm of the lnb had been smashed to bits with a baseball of all things. Amazingly none of the tiles of the roof were broke as there a hefty ball...amazing some of the things you come across...even seen washing lines afixed to the backbar....lol
