UK car import - VAT qualifying

Have been looking at importing a second hand 3 series and notice on the BMW website that some cars are "VAT qualifying". I read somewhere that these were rental or company cars and that when importing it, the VAT is an additional discount off the purchase price for us.

I've seen VAT discussed on some threads and am totally confused. Does anyone know what that actually means for an Irish person importing a car? Obviously I don't want to have to account for that VAT here which I've seen mentioned elsewhere. This would be a few years old with more than 6,000 miles.

    Thanks
