I can confirm the distance was "****ing long"

That was a ridic shot, and that sniper was like something from a film.

There was so many people there that were like drafted from a video game or something, did amazing things and afterwards just vanished.

    Awesome

    EDIT:

Wait, that was the Aon guy?? I dont think I saw those two at all during the games..

Yes, we held the FOB for most of the afternoon and all evening. We denied the palisades and open ground to the AR force while the English boys did that long assault to retake 24 around 23:00, kept harassing fire on 14 and overwatch on 9.

Also, we'd like to salute the sportsmanship of that player for taking the hit. That BB was at the very end of it's flight and would have had almost no energy left when it landed. Well played that girl.

Sorry, I forgot to ask on the day, but I've emailed Alex for an answer. We were standing watch, I didn't get a good look at it unfortunately. In the meantime, it was a gas-powered sniper rifle, possibly CO2. It looked a bit like an L96, but it was all black. Huge scope.

Just to clarify - for anyone wondering about the range - please remember that the limit for this UK event for sniper rifles was 152 metres per second, with a 25 metre minimum engagement distance. With a .25g BB, that's just under 3 joules.

Under our 1J limit, the most you'll get is about 40m, regardless of gun, BB, hop-up, wind or anything else. They just don't have enough energy to go any further.

Maybe so, but don't try to deny that you're sitting in a puddle of your own drool, salivating over the thought of using a 3 Joule sniper rifle at the next UK event :).

    Hommer says:

"Gun: Maruzen - APS type 96 + Silencer
    BBs: Blasters - 0.25g

    Upgades:
    - PDI - (Old) Spring 170% (400FPS (122m/s) from chrony on site by marshal)
    - OK - Inner Barel 6.03 x 498mm
    - Tasco - Scope 6-24x50mm
    - PDI - Hop Up
    - Laylax - Spring guide
    - Laylax - Teflon cylinder
    - Laylax - Piston head
    - Laylax - Cylinder head
    - Maruzen - Ball joint Bipod"

I actually thought the objective lens on the scope was even bigger than 50mm. No wonder he could shoot so well at night.
