Can you machine wash a communion dress? Strange question I know, but I have one that looks slighty grubby and it says on the label that you can hand wash and 40'c - I can't be a***d!! :D I'm thinking that the 40'c cycle in my washing machine should do the trick ??!!. It's 100% polyester (apart from the embelishments) - have you machine washed this type of dress successsfully?

    Thanks in advance. :)

if it says handwash I wouldn't put it on a normal cycle - i'd put it on a handwash/delicates cycle. Unless it is particularly dirty I wouldn't use a 40 wash, I think 30 would be hot enough, just to be safe. And also maybe put it in a duvet cover to protect it a bit more.

    would dry cleaning be safer?

I stuck it in the washing machine in a net bag thingy on a 40'c wash and it came out lovely! The last thing I wanted was it to be ruined.

    Thanks for the advice.:)
