Hey Guys not sure if this is in the right place Mods pls move if needed.... a guy I know was in an RTA single vehicle, just himself got hurt. anyways if he presents himself to the hospital and says it was a car accident are the hospital obliged to report it to the gardai? he may have been slightly over the limit can the gardai prosecute him after the fact, or if he wasn't breathlysed at the scene?

thanks guys and just to be sure its not me!!

I don't see why the hospital would report it to the Guards they are far too busy to be getting the guards for people who have come in for treatment.

Rights and wrongs aside, I can't see how they can as he went to the hospital himself, and could easily have had a drink on the way to calm the nerves, or any one of a hundred other excuses.
