Just rang 8207005 ( Dunnes Blanch ). The guy confirmed that they have a 50% sale across the dept. Food / drink excluded.

Dunnes have done this is the past across a few of their stores, notably Tallaght and Henry St. Electricals are included but if you're not there soon after opening, there doesn't be much left.

It's 50% off SALE items, not everything in store....otherwise there would be a cue two miles long and the shelves wiped clean. I bought a 13.5 tog divet today, was €20 reduced to 12 squid.

No, it's not a 50% reduction in price... tut tut, amateur mistake!

They simply cut items in half.. got a half of block of cheese, half a box of Nestle Cheerio's, half an apple and a quarter of a pint of milk served in half a kid's sock.

50% off, I nearly fell off my chair there :(
Maybe should have changed the title to reflect the correct SALE.

This was also going on in the Henry St branch - the signs read "50% off all sale items".

Unless this a different offer, the one in my store is 'All sale items are half price'. Not half MARKED price- the red price tag is the price.
