Hi all, Hopefully someone can help me, iv a nissan 200sx 98, and need parts for the front suspension, track rod left and right, bottom ball joint left and right and anti roll drap(? couldnt read the writing on the work sheet) or bar links left and right. Iv had it in a garage and Nissan quoted them €1000 for the parts but they and i want to get them some were cheaper. Anyone know weres good for parts
Also im having turbo problem which might be caused by the dumo valve, its not a constant prob but it is happening more offen now, when the turbo is kicking in it shudders kinda like your in the wrong gear then the turbo kicks in and its fine but if the revs drop again and i accelerate it happens again, iv been told that its something to do with the suction on the dump valve anyone know for sure???
Finally the garage i have it in dont really work with this type of car but will work with anything does anyone know a good garage in Dublin that works with modified cars for the future.

as for the suspension parts, you'd be best to get on to a breakers yard that would specialize in jap import parts, log on to dtdirl.com, introduce yourself, and put up a thread asking for the parts you need.

as for the turbo problem, that sounds more like a misfire than a turbo/dumpvalve problem. check all the intrcooler and turbo piping for leaks if you think they might be related, but from the way you have described it, i would start by changine spark plugs and leads, followed by looking at the distributor and coil. failing this, check the afm, these can be problematic in sr20 engines. has it got any aftermarket engine management? this could also be cause for the problem.

any good mechanic should be able to work on any car, no matter what the pedigree, as they are all still similar mechanically. the mechanic i use from time to time can work wonders on any car from trucks, to 1 litre micras, to pulsar gti-r's and s14a silvias.

Thanks for the reply, ya iv tried to get on too dtdirl.com i registered two weeks ago and got refused (dont know why) i reregistered and im still waiting for my account to be activated, iv email admin and mod's and still no reply or activation. Not impressed

The garage already check for leaks etc, but il mention your reccomandations. No it doesn't have aftermarket engine management.
When i tried to get some one to look at it i got a lot of dont work with high powered car/modified cars/jap imports (even tho its not its a 200sx not silvia) but im just looking for some one who specializes in those type of cars

Hi, I practically rebuilt my 200sx using this website http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/index.php

It's the best out there and covers everything on the 200sx.

    I hope that helps

    Cheers.

Try Stiv on the 200sx forum. Hes a little bit outside of Dublin but its well worth the trip as he would have the most experience under the bonnet of a 200 of anyone id know.

These cars can be fiddly until you know how to take care of them. There are very few mechanics id trust with one.

Im not even going to attempt to tell you what to start looking to fix your car as there is a long list of stuff that would need checking and it looks like you have a fair bit of work there.

    contact stiv:
