Seems like a very good price for a great, low mileage car -or at least it would have a year or two ago before the recession scared everybody out of buying a bag of crisps in case the value halved over night...

    Ode To The Motorist

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

sunroof was standard in 05, and as you say the arm rest was an option, which looks like its the only one i can see too. just backing up your theme of only one option :D

Not a fan of the Golf but definitly would not be buying an auto sports car, defeats the purpose imo. Your buying the car for the driving experience and the thing drives itself

The seats aren't that bad! I agree they tend not to photograph well, but, love them or hate them, they are a unique feature of the GTI! The VW leather is fairly poor quality too, tends to look shabby very quickly.

Also, whats wrong with manual? Not everyone wants DSG, in fact I suspect a lot of people would find it off-putting, as those not in the know would assume its a traditional auto, and all the negative stuff that goes along with that.

The wheels on that car are also the upgraded 18's.

Agreed the ad is very poor though, unforgivable for a dealership!

Is that the same VK Motors which used to be in Harolds Cross? A father and son outfit originally from Kerry?

If it is, I bought my 520 from them in 2005. Had a few teething problems with them, but when the clutch went after 2 weeks they got it sorted. Still had problems with the accelerator pedal when I moved it on 3 1/2 year later (the pedal kept falling off; the car was delivered to me without any pedal at all, despite it being fixed was a condition of the sale.) LONG story!!!

Loved the line "you got a €60,000 car for €12,000; what more do you want?". He meant that I was buying a car which was €60,000 new for €12,000, but seemed to forget that it was at that stage 7 years old, with 63,000 miles (showing on the clock...).
