English tests

I'm trying to apply to TCD for an undergraduate course but unfortunately it says that non-native English speakers (I'm French) need to produce the results of an English proficiency test like TOEFL or those Cambridge tests. I looked it up and the next test date out of all the accepted test results is April 30th, which means I'd miss the May 1st deadline to apply!

Am I screwed? Is there any way around this absurd requirement? Surely that tiny little formality won't make me have to wait until next year? Or can it?

    Both...

e-mail them and if they don't reply by whenever you can go in and see them, then go in.

Anyway your English seems perfect so I'm sure once they see that you can actually speak the language you should be ok. Or you could just pretend that you are a native English speaker. I don't know how they check

My strong French accent is a dead giveaway, trust me, you know that I'm French as soon as I open my mouth hehe. Actually you can tell even before I open my mouth, I believe my moustache and my scarf are to blame :pac:. I suppose that at some point you might have to show some ID anyways, plus your leaving certificate and such.

I'll go see them and ask, this time I'll try to make sure to go there while they're open and not at like 5:30 pm lol..

Went there, turns out I don't need to have it sent with my CAO application, I have until July to send it to TCD. That's a relief. However it also turns out that I need to get my French leaving certificate translated :pac: gotta see that with the French embassy or something... yay..
