Jeans for the bigger thighed/assed man...

    Hi there,

I've got myself a little 'problem' and I'm hoping that some of you more fashion conscious folk might be able to help me out.

To put it simply, I'm looking for jeans. Namely, good quality jeans that will fit someone with big thighs and a footballer's ass. Since I've got serious about working out (around 3 years now) I've found it increasingly hard to find clothes, in particular jeans and trousers, to fit me.

Just a few weeks ago I went through most of the Diesel range in Bristol's House of Fraser. Length fine and waist ditto. But as I've mentioned finding a pair that were somewhat loose around my thighs and allowed me to bend over without outraging the helpful assistant was a more difficult task.

Price is not really an issue, within reason. And something dark and free of too many bells and whistles. That means no rips and tears. I'm the wrong side of 30 and I'd just look silly in them.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

    CJ

You could try Road jeans, not sure where you can get them anymore, used to be in Tribe in Stephen's green. May be more on the skater side of things but they are normal enough that you can get away with them over thirty. I still have a pair and I'm over 30.

French Connection have a "boot cut flare" which are fairly loose on the ass and thighs, worth checking out. Not too expensive either.

But yeah, avoid anything by Diesel or higher end labels as they will be unforgiving on the larger man!

As far as i know Tribe still stock Road jeans but the selection is limited. They also have QuikSilver jeans which tend to be a little looser around the thighs. Carhartts might do the job for you as well.
Bench jeans available in JD are also decent, not very pricey, quality is not fantastic but you'll get a decent amount of wear out of them. But it's difficult to find a pair without the bobs bells and whistles.
