Your local GAA club. Just make sure you don't buy them in a sports shop, they're rubbish!

What would i be exepecting to pay? Also, I know my local GAA club don't have a 'retail' section, for want of a better word, so don't really know how it works.

Anything from €20-30 per stick. If you know the manager of any of the club's hurling teams, then just ask them if they can get you one. They'll usually have a batch of hurls as replacements for lads if they break one of their own sticks. If not, ask someone you know who plays hurling in the club if s/he can get you one.

Bought my first one in Lifestyle sports of all places, a 34" Torpey hurl for 22e. Must have been lucky as its not too bad, good weight and grain but much prefer the Fitzgerald one i got in the club shop.

In addition to the other sources listed by An Citeog, see if your local club has a website, see when their shop is open and drop in yourself. Most clubs should be selling sticks for around 22-25e, depending on size.
