West Waterford Writers unite!

I would like to call on (West) Waterford writers to create our own group, to share our knowledge, and be of support to each other in the writing/publishing of our work.
Please read the mesages by Grace Wells (message for artlinks writers) and the info about The Lit Lab initiative ((innovative approach with regard to encouraging new writers) to get the idea. Both links are ion the Artlinks website-forum page:
    http://www.artlinks.ie/forums/index.php?action=vtopic&forum=12

I have called on the County Waterford library and arts office services if there will be a support structure like the 'writer in residence' scheme in Kilkenny in the near future, but I have not yet received a reply from either of them. Maybe if we, the writers of County Waterford, unite, we have a stronger voice to lobby for mentorship/writer in residence, and in the meantime be of support to each other.

If I am the only one who would like/feels the need for support :-) then maybe an established writer would consider being my mentor?
I have self published my book Hatched, 3 years ago and am about to publish the first book in a series of fables, within the current year.

I'm from West Waterford and am very interested in pursuing a career in creative writings (mainly poetry).

Are you interested in setting up an online community with monthly/bi-monthly meetings? I think it is a shame that there is, as yet, no major grouping for writers in West Waterford.

Hi there, thanks for your reply.
I am not that interested in an online community, am more into the idea of face to face meetings, ones a month sounds like a good time scale.

As for 'no major grouping for writers in West Waterford' , I think it is up to the writers themselves to get together, maybe in time we can proof to be of such value that we get the arts office etc on board.
