[April Fools!] goose cull on wexford slobs

    Gormley has supposedly signed an order to cull 10,000 white fronted geese from the slobs due to their impact on other species of birds according to rte radio yesterday and the wexford people on thursday.
    On rtes review of the provincial papers the said that shooters would be brought in from england as there was not enough local clubs to do it.

    Did anyone else hear or see this article. It is unbelievable that they should bring in shooters from england, surely npws could organise this with the nargc.

    If Gormley took his head out of his arse he might see that a lot of us would only love to do it. More money wasted bringing in these guys when im sure a lot of clubs would love the chance to get out

    I'll take the contract.

    Should not have a problem with in-country well armed licensed sportsmen and sportswomen. The larger issue as I see it will be manning the barricades. :D

    :oYour spot on John it was a fools joke in the wexford people.
    Apologies as I heard this on rtes drivetime friday evening on my break in work and was raging, I have since checked the wexford people and the article was in wednesdays edition guess they got me.
    Once again sorry if I misled the forum.
