Boiling Potatoes Help!

    Just bought baby new potatoes there today from tesco.it says to boil them for 20 minutes but says nothing about what setting.i have an electric cooker and the hobs have setting numbered 1-6.which is the best setting for them to be on does anyone know.

    Turn the heat up to 6 until they come to the boil, then turn the heat down low to keep them boiling gently - usually 1 or 2. Put a lid on but not tight, have it angled a bit. Add a pinch of salt to the water.

    Always start from cold too with root vegtables/tubers.

    the 20 mins is only a guide. they are done when a fork goes into them easily.
