Randy Marsh Appreciation Thread

Just thought I'd stick up a thread to one of the greatest animated characters there is.
The legend that is, Randy Marsh.
He has to be the 2nd best character in South Park
(although Butters is a close third).

Here's my own personl favourite Randy Marsh moments.

    1. Fighting the other dads at Stan's baseball games in
    'The Losing Edge'.

The part where he wakes up at the crack of dawn in his 'Rocky' tracksuit
    and shuffles into the kitchen.
The 'Rocky' theme music is playing and he looks exhauseted.
He cracks some eggs into a jug like hes' gonna drink them raw
but he just cracks open a beer and starts frying them.

Not to mention him constantly fighting the other dads.
With the background song playing, 'You're the Best'...

    2. Getting into 'World of Warcraft' as a n00b in
    'Make Love Not Warcraft'.

Randy: "No r-tard, it's an MMORPG.
Hello! In the outside world, I am a simple geologist... but in here,
I am Valkorn, Defender of the Alliance.
I have braved the Fargo Deep Mine
and defeated the Blood Fish at Jarod's Landing."

His death scene was also brilliant after he handed over the sword.

    3. Using his expertise as a Geologist to predict global warming in
'Two Days Before The Day After Tomorrow'.

Randy: "You go outside, and you'll die!
By now, the global warming has... shifted the climate,
bringing on a new ice age.
Within the hour, the temperature outside will fall
to over 70 million degrees below zero!"

It was so funny when he was trudging along in the sun wearing all
    the mountain climbing gear.

    4. Over reacting as always in 'Cartoon Wars: Part 1'.

Randy Marsh: "We stay here through the night
and wait it out to see if they do anything.
If we're still alive in the morning, then we'll know we're not dead."

    5. Trying to smooth talk a Police Officer in 'The Bloody Mary'.

Randy: "What seems to be the officer problem?"

    6. Losing on Wheel of Fortune on 'With Apologies To Jesse Jackson'.

Randy: "like anyone thought it was NAGGERS"

Also worth mentioning are his Guitar Hero antics and
the time he worked at Wal-Mart.

Please add your own Randy Marsh moments of genius...

i have to agree with you there, over the past 2 -3 seasons he has become one of the main characters, hes a bit like a homer simpsons/ peter griffin but only far better. the most recent episode with farting was class with him

Lecturing Stan about being tolerant with the immigrants from the future, before losing his job to them. Also the whole 'alcoholism is a disease' episode was very funny. One of them characters, no matter what he says i always find myself laughing.:D

"I'm sorry I thought this was America." While being dragged off by the mexican police.

    Randy Marsh, we salute you

2nd best. I disagree. Randy Marsh is the best character on South Park.

walmart quote, this was overlooked i feel, but the tone of his voice is everything here:

    (warm-hearted music playing)

Stan: 'how come the walmart can afford to sell everything so cheap?'

Randy: well son.. its simple economics...i dont understand it all.

Randy is the funniest character on South Park but I disagree with anyone who thinks he is better than Peter Griffin

2nd best. I disagree. Randy Marsh is the best character on South Park.

As excellent as Randy is he'll never be Eric Cartman - the greatest
animated character of all time IMO.

South Park would be nothing without him.

A small sample of his finer deeds include..
    • Rounding up Hippies and trying to exterminate them like rats.
    • Single handedly trying to launching the 4th Reich.
    • Almost got 'Family Guy' axed and pwned Bart Simpson in the process.
    • And let's not forget the time he chopped up a guy's parents and fed them to him in some Chilli just cos he pissed him off.
Also, as much as I like Peter Griffin I don't think he's a patch on Randy Marsh.
As soon as Randy opens his mouth in that sanctamonios, know-it-all tone,
you know it's going to be gold.... "trust me son, I'm a Geologist".

Out of curiousity perhaps I should do a poll for people's favourite South Park character.
My top 3 would be Cartman, Randy and Butters.
Are there any others that would realistically be worth including?

"But if we don't treat the internet with the RESPECT!!!...that it deserves...!"

Love that line the most. Randy is a great character. I find it hard to decide who's better, him or Cartman.

Even just the way he says "Sharon...Hey, Sharon...?". Brilliant!

And his death scene in the Warcraft episode is his finest moment IMO.

As a character he seems to have really come into his own recently!

    "I'm so....startled!"

And who can forget the Internet Pron simulator?

That " what seems to be the officer problem" is my favourite quote from him. However that Bloody Mary episode where he gets drunk and says i'm not drinking and driving, I'm driving while drinking....Right boys" is right up there...

    My favorite character on Southpark,

Randy, Randy, We love you Randy!

Randy just edges out Cartman as the best character. The Pinewood Derby episode where he invented warp speed was one of the funniest things I've ever seen & the one where the internet runs out, the one with Bono & the sars one were also hilarious. Hopefully when the 2nd half of the current series returns in October we'll see more of him.
"Wow! That...is huge. That has got to be the biggest crap I've ever taken. He--Hey, Sharon. Sharon, you gotta come see this. Sha-Sharon?

Love that line the most. Randy is a great character. I find it hard to decide who's better, him or Cartman.

Himself and Cartman seem to alternate as the main character.

I prefer the cartman but the gap is getting smaller.

Love the episode where he suffers from alcholism and stan has to take care of him. The pathetic way he calls "Stan" is hilarious!

and when he proclaims his condition is more serious than the girl with Elephantitis :D

    Another great quote
Nelson: Randy, you working on that sediment analysis?
Randy Marsh: Now now, Nelson. I just joined a big party of Night Elves and we're going to go and explore the Tower of Azora together.
Nelson: Is that a computer game?
Randy Marsh: No, r-tard, it's an MMORPG. These are real people I'm playing with. See, I'm a hunter, level 2. I can chat with all these other people. I can even wave to this guy, see?
    [waves]
Randy Marsh: Hello! In the outside world, I am a simple geologist... but in here, I am Valkorn, Defender of the Alliance. I have braved the Fargo Deep Mine, and defeated the Blood Fish at Jarod's Landing.
[griefer appears and kills Randy's character]
Nelson: Hmm. Looks like that guy just killed you.
    Randy Marsh: What? Why? WHY?

His voice is funny too, especially in the Fingerbang episode when he tells the boys about his career.

    "Staaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan?" / feeble voice

Early series, Halloween special where Stan gets a killer goldfish, all broadcast in Streisand-vision for even more horror iirc :D

Randy is a legend, but Cartman is still the king.

"Nah nah nah nah nah nah, I made you eat your parents. Let me taste your tears Scott, oh yes, the taste of unfathomable sadness"

    Legend :D
