Hi there !!! I am introducing the concept of negative numbers to year 4 on the first week of my teaching practice(PGCE) . This can be a tough topic and i dont want to give these kids a fear of negative numbers for the rest of their lives . I am thinking of a human number line with each child holding a number and activities…

Hi there !!!

I am introducing the concept of negative numbers to year 4 on the first week of my teaching practice(PGCE) . This can be a tough topic and i dont want to give these kids a fear of negative numbers for the rest of their lives . I am thinking of a human number line with each child holding a number and activities based around them sorting out the order . Please let me know any other ideas or ways to introduce negative numbers without causing confusion .
