Philips DVDR 3595H/31 *stuck* recording

I've had this machine for just over a year now but recently I've noticed that there appears to be a faulty recording *stuck* on the HDD.
Whenever the recording is accessed in the Recordings Menu the machine crashes (to a green screen) so the option to delete it is not available.
The offending recording is only 33 seconds long and I can access other recordings fine. Any ideas on how to get rid of it?

Just in case someone else encounters the same problem in the future here's the solution (from Philips). It formats the HDD so save anything important beforehand...

To format the HDD, please proceed as follow

    - Disconnect the DVDR from the mains (i.e. switch OFF at the socket)
    - Press and hold PREV (|<<) and STOP buttons on the front panel while powering back on
    - Release the buttons when "FMT HDD" appears on the display
    - Once formatted, customer will see "FMT DONE" on the display, otherwise will appear "FMT FAIL"
    - Please wait until the clock or "--:--" is displayed to confirm process is finished
