How do you translate...

...the images in your head into text?

I am absolutely bursting with ideas and unbridled creativity, but the problem is I simply cannot translate it into anything, and to be quite frank it's wrecking my head.

I can't seem to write like I used to be able to. I can't express in other ways-- I used to be able to paint, or take a picture, but neither of these options are available to me right now, and I just feel like I could sit down for hours and write.

Except I can't find the words. No matter what I write, it refuses to come out on paper how I see it in my mind.

How on earth can I do something about this? I look at my old works and I just had such an interesting writing style, and now.. it's gone. Completely vanished.

I feel hopeless. What can I do?

Try a different writing style. You can create the most powerful imagery with the simplest words; the trick is to just start somewhere. Don't, whatever you do, compare what you're writing with what you've previously written, or try to replicate it. You may be surprised how much you like the new stuff whem you re-read it later.

Sounds like my problem. For me it's that my ambition has lessened because of other successes. I'd say find a girl and try and impress her with your work!! After all 99% of all Art is created just so someone can get a shag.

Try writing as if you were telling someone about it. If necessary actually tell a child or someone. Make sure you pick out the telling details, not just the overall impression. Like the restaurant at the top of the Matterhorn having to use chemical toilets, as water ones will freeze.
