You try and do the housekeeping option, this is a similar process to defragging a pc. Basically it moves your recording around on your drive and removes and bad files etc that may be left behind when manually deleting stuff you previously recorded.

You can do this by doing the following

    Press Services
    Press button 4 (System Setup)
Not press 4, 0, 1 then select in sucessor.

You should now be in the installer menu

Press button 7 to do a planner rebuild(Dont worry it wont delete anything)

Or press button 8 if you want to delete all your previous recordings if your finished with them

The box will switch into standby when finished...give it a min or two and then switch back on

Also worth going to check the signal on the second tuner, just go to 'Signal Test' and have a look at the lower set of bars, I had a bit of corrosion on the end of the cable that once I removed sorted all my 'bad' recording issues.

    It's [services] 401 [select]
    Don't press 4 twice.

Not to sure wether i have the same problem but i recorded 2 programmes the other night for the mother at 9 and 10 pm. Both recorded fine but its when i go to play them back is where i have the problem. The first one played back fine but the second one wouldnt go past the part where you select the time (Start, user defined, or end). also the backup button would not let me return to the planner I would have to press the Sky button to return to live programmes. Would I have to do this planner rebuild? Would it do any harm to do it even if i didnt need to?

    Thanks guys in advance

    Danny:)

I get this the odd time on my sky+ box - oddly, it only seems to be programmes that are recorded off TV3 that are affected...

Odd. Is yours a Thomson made Sky+? Mine is - starting to wondering is it the power supply on it's way out that's causing it :(

    See http://www.satcure.net/tech/thom_psu.htm
    and http://notonyourtelly.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1390

If the capacitors are bulging then the answer is obvious.
If they aren't bulging, it may still be on its way out.
