I have an Alpine CDE- 9981R headunit in my car.

It has full ipod speed connectivity etc but i dont use an Ipod, so bought this cable

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...X:eRTM:GB:1123

Its all now connected up, but when i play my mp3 player the sound only comes out through one right hand side speaker and its very low quality.

Any ideas and how to fix this?

has to be the cable. is it a 3.5 to 3.5 connection? ive had a few of those and many times, they can be crappy enough. my current one works better with one of the ends in particular plugged in the radio rather than the mp3 player, just one of those odd things.
