Camera system prefs?

My MacBook's camera seems to be permanently turned on (little green light on) since my sister asked me to try out Google Chat. I don't like this. Is there any system preference for the camera that allows me to turn it on and off?

Is there some app open in the background using it?

    Have you tried restarting?

If Google Chat uses Flash, you can disallow Flash from using your webcam.

I restarted and that solved it.

How do you stop Flash from using the webcam, please?

I suppose I could just uninstall Google Chat - but I don't want to until my sister's system is sorted out and certainly working.

I'm not sure if Google Chat uses Flash but, even so, you can prevent Flash from using your webcam by cmd-clicking on the Flash part of the page, choose Settings. Bring up the webcam tab and select to disable Flash from using it.

Just like the little rectangle of a YouTube video or similar.
