Played an hour of it there on pc.

Not bad...mouse control is a little floaty but nothing like dead space.

not overly graphically taxing...everything 'on' @ 1680*1050 and it's grand.

given I can't finish gta4 this is a solid substitute on pc :)

Didn't know this was out or even know it was being made. :D I liked the first one so will probably give this a go at some stage.

mercs 2 and saints row 2 are also good alternatives. Is there anything in GFII that largely separates it from GTAIV? I mean graphically I was fairly underwhelmed by the trailers.

got SR2 for the 360..haven't played lots yet.

GF2 is more...strategic I'd say..all about building up your crime ring thru various methods...kinda like VC was compared to GTA4.

driving is a bit flakey but voice acting and the like is top notch imo. never played the first

Ah sure Godfather was always a poor mans Mafia.

The first wasn't bad at all, so I'm looking forward to this. Doesn't Robert Duvall reprise his role in this? I was looking at the strategic mode videos and it looks ilke it could be a lot of fun.

I had the first game and thought it was ok but could have been better. I might get this anyway as i love the Godfather films.

a wee bit repetitive..finished NYC in like 2 hours but it seemed like I 'cheated' by being able to acquire all opposition family businesses before I went to the meeting that told me I needed to acquire them all.

Dunno if that'll hold for the next city.

Enjoyable tho...I do like the executions you can do and there is something really satisfying about strangling a security guard to death :)

Woohoo, just won tickets to the game launch in the Sugarclub on Tuesday! Anyone else win?

The first one was good just a little sparse and repetitive. I was very tempted to get it on the Wii. If 2 isn't all that graphically intense I might wait for it on Wii.

I've been playin this for a while this eve and its not bad, they've improved the driving over the first one (which I liked, got a little repeditive after a bit but I did finish it). This time You have a crew with You. Its good fun, well put together and plays well. Graphics are just ok, very aliased @ 1920x1200. Here's some screenies.

Looks a lot nicer graphically than the first and more variety in vehicles by the looks of it. There was only 4 or 5 types of vehicles in the first although that was limited by being set in the forties.

Gotta say I'm really enjoying this one. This game really gets going, I just had a major shootout with the Police. Here's a few more screenies

was playing the game yesterday & found it was kinda buggy, always crashes when it goes to the cut sceen in Florida airport, hopefully we'll get a patch to remedy this in the next few days

Im rather enjoying this game. I did have to update my gfx drivers for the game to work, just in case people are having graphical issues

Anyone know where the location of the weapon upgrades are?, I feel like im more than half way through the game and Ive only found 3 lv2 upgrades

I was playing this last night and I loved it. Granted, it's early days yet so things might change.

I'm loving the little incidental things, like eye-witnesses to your petty crimes, your henchmen commenting when you pass by women, or even in some places where your henchmen go and do their own thing.

I was in the starting mansion with one guy and I walked into the kitchen. I was sniffing around and saw my henchman over at the stove stiring some food in a pot and tasting it. I love these little things in games. They add so much.

Eurogamer gave it a 4, but I quite liked the first one. Might check it out after the LC.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,976 ✭✭✭✭humanji

That's bizarre. They gave it a horrific right up. I'd give it a 7 or 8, maybe. But a 4 is just taking the piss. Someone in EA must of really pissed the reviewer off somehow.

Update Your graphics drivers, I'm encountering no bugs at all. Runs lovely for a new release
