MTB Shoes -the choices...

    Hi all -

Long time lurker here, this is the first question I have posted so go easy... :pac: Recently bought a Focus Northern Lite MTB from wiggle and fitted the following pedals - http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/cycle/7/DMR_V8_Flat_Pedals/528567288/

Bought the flat pedals as I have never tried "cleats" and would be a bit wary of how to get off the bike whilst hurtling towards a tree! :D

At the moment I am using a pair of old runners out on the trails but by the end of the trek my feet are quite sore... esp around the "ball of the foot" - my guess is that the runners are designed for running, not for trail cycling!

So any suggestions for shoes, that fit my requirements - ie. Trail cycling / cross country and for flat pedals... so far all I can come up wth are - http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=18195
    Any other suggestions?

When out on the MTB with flats, I just use an old pair of Vans... I reckon any 'skateboard' type shoe will be ok

Any of the 5-10 shoes would be perfect.
