    Hello,

    I want to learn Java scripting for the sake of a deeper understanding of a certain software package. I have seen Beanshell recommended as a tool.

    Can you help provide me with the following:

    - an estimation of how long it may take me to get to an "average" level of proficiency (I have a computer science background from uni, but haven't programmed for years)

    - good tutorial resources for Java scripting and Beanshell.
