Is there any reason to be wary of the Dell Outlet if a machine is suspiciously cheap?

I bought one from them a few years ago...no problems. They come packaged as new and have a warranty as if they are new.

Bought a laptop from outlet 3+ years ago, it's still running to this day, and at least with the machine that i bought there was nothing that would make me think it was anything but new. It pays to shop around on outlet though, be patient and you'll pick up a bargain. I'm not too sure if there are many bargains still going on it, but it's worth checking out. Post back here if you're unsure.

I'm looking at an XPS for £828 incl VAT. The reason I am suspicious is the same config comes out in excess of £1,400 on the site!

i bought an xps m1530 off it last summer and the 'volume up' button didn't work and that was the only problem i had. Considering i saved a couple of hundred euro,i have no problem with that minor fault. Would buy from it again in future and recommend it to people looking for one. they update the site every day at one o'clock, with the best and newest deals. worth watching it for a few weeks.

That machine could have been returned to Dell under the cooling off period or had a fault and they then can't sell it again as new as it would have been repaired/refurbished but you still get the same warranty.

I spotted a good bargain there the other day also. was a studio 17 laptop which came in €350 cheaper than buying it from the main dell site. I hummed and hawed for a few minutes as it was purple so I wasn't sure about it. When I decided to buy it, the damn thing had been bought by some one else :(

Worth keeping an eye on it for a while alright to get a good bargain.

    Hi,

As were talking about the Dell Outlet, can anyone advise on what the delivery cost is... A rough number would be appreciated.

Sometimes the machines are just in other people's baskets. Check back a few hours later. I was watching one that disappeared for days and I found it again.

I would be 100% confident with Dell Outlet. The systems go through the same tests as new ones. So from hardware and software point of view they should be spot on. Many would have come back unopened and will be as new but still retested. Any damage will be minor, maybe a scratch or colour fade etc, cosmetic. Only problem with outlet is you can't configure your system. You have to hope the spec you want becomes available. Definatly good deals to be had.

The outlet is where clever people buy laptops.

    shhhhhhh

Also, some machines on outlet never actually made it to their original customers, a lot would be canceled orders that never even left the factory. And considering they have the same warranty as new machines, theirs little to worry about. You may come across the odd fault with the cosmetics of the machine, but other than that, they're generally okay.

I don't know why some people have a negative view of Dell pc's etc.
I have had 2 Dell yokes with no problems...ever.

Looking at some of the prices that are fetching ot the Dell Ebay Factory outlets you could easily be stung if you were not sure about PC specs. I bought a parts machine off one of their agents no probs.

Working away on my M1330 at the min, great machine and saved a packet buying from the outlet store. No problems at all.

Prices are +VAT though....you will see when you put it into your basket.
