Hi there, my story is -Managing director of a business, OH just had a baby a few months back so just looking for a basic accountancy or business course that doesn't take too much time e.g more han an hour a day. Is there such a course or some book s someone could recommend, sick of feeling lost at board meetings when the accountants come out with phrases etc. I don't really understand.
    Any help appreciated.

How about the ACCA Certified Accounting Technician exams. No need to do them all. All you have to do is buy the books in Dawson street if you're in Dublin or just order them online and do the exams twice a year in june and december i think. There's no pressure. You can just work at your own pace. Google ACCA and it will get you the website for the association of certified chartered accountants. You don't want the professional exams. It's the technician ones you want for the moment. If you are stuck the business colleges around the country do weekend revision courses and evening courses for individual exams but a lot cheaper just to read the books yourself.

i think kilroys college do a distance learning course in accountancy

go to www.qualifax.ie and type in your specifications and it will list all the courses appropriate to your needs in ireland

    best of luck
