    Hi All

Anyone else agree that we are getting ripped off now by Sky/Setanta with their pricing structures. I currently subscribe to the entertainment mix & sports pack on Sky. I get charged €60, on the sky uk website the price is £39.50 (€43.40). The same is with Setanta I get charged €21.99 but on the uk website £12.99 (€14.27). I wonder how long before they change their pricing for Irish customers, if they do at all. :(

already had this argument with them when the added an extra €0.75 to my bill due to the fact I pay by credit card. after pointing out to CS how much exra Irish Subscribers pay and now they want this extra charge as well, i proposed that can I at least be charged for my sub in Sterling as the Credit Card Co. don't care what currency I pay by, their answer was a big no.

My response to this was that I will downgrade my sub during the footy offseason so their RPU will be down.

I also pursued rigourously my "refer a friend bonus" and dragged the €75 out of them too, which I received about two weeks ago

Yes,its all down to supply and demand. If enough people are willing to pay the inflated prices they will keep charging them. Up to about 9 months ago,I had Skysports and 4 mixes, now I have Skysports 1 and just one mix. Making a good saving and still have more than enough to watch. I'll probably cancel Skysports at end of season, so will save another 20 euro a month then.

To be fair to Setanta, we see a lot more than what they do in the UK.

The worst broadcaster out there, They rip off the people who made them into a sizeable business- The Irish viewers here and overseas.

Today they moved the Munster v Leinster match from ****anta Ireland to ****anta 2. Those of us getting ****anta Ireland through Ntell can't get it. This is to force any one desperate enough to sign up for the full package.

Thankfully they are going down the tubes. They can't pay their bills and their backers are very jittery. They can't get any decent advertising revenue and the word is they are spiralling downward to oblivion.

I don't understand how it is a rip off. Are you forced to subscribe?
Your comment about the rugby being moved. Was that ever scheduled to be on Setanta Ireland? Reading your post you do sound like you are desperate to watch the game so moving to a subscription only channel may not be a bad move.

It is still not an excuse for them to charge 50% more.

It is considering they show 3pm Premiership football, Champions League, F1 and so on. Anyone expecting parity with the UK charge are fooling themselves
