Get one of the mini ones.

The usual method for busting U-locks is to stick a car jack into the centre and to force it open. The jacks wont fit into the minis. Also they fit great in a back pocket.

Personally, when I want to leave my bike secure, I use a Krypto evolution mini on the rear wheel through the rear triangle (a la Sheldon) and onto the rack, and a larger U-lock through the front-wheel, front triangle and another part of the rack. This prevents the bike itself being used as a lever to wrench the lock open as it is secured at both ends.

Also, common advice is to use two different types of locks (chain and U, say, as it requires 2 tools to open).

I have that lock at there's plenty of marks on it where enterprising young youths have tested it's security credentials and failed.

I never leave my bike anywhere long and always in well populated areas so I'm not too worried about a jacking job being done on it

I can't see why these mini locks seem to actually be more expensive than the bigger ones. Less metal and all.

    There are a few variants.

(and the second page of that)

I think in Evolution < New York < New York Fahgettaboudit.

It's all about the shackle girth. The Fahgettaboudit cannot easily be frame mounted.

The New York is a lot heavier and a lot more secure.
