    Hi,

wonder if anyone can help me. I've been a Sky customer for a good few years and thinking about getting a Sky + box. Can I just buy this over the counter and just simply switch it with the old one.

I just want to record TV with the hard drive on it basically.

    ALSO -

I do have a HD ready TV so if I went for the Sky+ HD (€49 I think I saw somewhere) do I have to pay any more monthly subscription

    many thanks

Nope. You'll also need a new (second) cable running from the box to the LNB on the satellite dish, and if that LNB doesn't have a spare connection point you'll need to replace it with a dual or quad LNB.

No you won't be able to simply buy over the counter. An extra cable needs to be brought from dish to box, as well as the LNB to be changed.

There's an extra ~€14.75 per month for the HD channels on Sky+ HD.
