Question re: smoke monster "control room"

    Remember last season when Ben went into that little hidden room in one of the houses in Othersville? Well I was wondering, that since Dharma are living there now, surely they are aware of the secret room where Ben went and did whatever he did to "summon" the smoke monster?

    i don't think so, wasn't smokie there when Russo laned on the island and that predates the purge. i think smokie has been there since day one. besides didn't the darma folk build that electro fence to keep smokie out?

    I would have thought that the smoke moster is more of a native-to-the-island thing, and not something Dharma invented. So I'd imagine Richard and the others know about it (maybe can control it). Ben probably only gets it after he joins the others and kills the Dharma Initiative.

    According to the writers in a recent podcast, the smoke monster
    pre-dates Dharma.

    What I'm wondering is that the smoke monster room is in one of the houses the Dharma Initiative are staying in, so surely they know about it?

    1970: Dharma Initiative is created
    1988: Rousseau arrives on the island
    1992: the purge

    yeah that was in episode 5 of this season. the smoke monster dragged one of Rousseau's team down through a hole in the ground at the side of the temple, ripping off his arm in the process.
