:mad:My OH just told me that the boss said to them all today that there is an emergency annual general meeting tomorrow with the board members to discuss their situation and that they mightn't have enough money to pay the staff members? Is this true? Surely its illegal. They've all worked a week work for free???!!!

There's nothing "illegal" about a company going bust and being unable to pay its debts (including wages). Employees do have some protection vis a vis other creditors but if there isnt enough money in the pot to go around well it's tough luck I'm afraid.

In this situation, bringing any movable goods like a computer home after he finishes is a good idea. also not going in to work when there is a threat of not getting paid for it too.

We call that both theft and given the circumstance, burglary.
