Running IE8 on a Mac

Can someone help a total technophobe out? I've been using a MacBook for the past few months and love it. Trouble is, I now find myself in the position of having to use Internet Explorer - it's a work website that I have to access pretty regularly, and it doesn't run on Safari or Firefox.

I've done a bit of research and am just baffled by all the options out there. In know I can use the Mac Boot Camp application and partition my hard drive etc. but I think that's a bit OTT when all I need is to use IE once every few days. Would Parallels or similar be the best option for me? And once I get it, do I also have to shell out for Windows before I can download IE8?

    Any help appreciated!

If you change Safari's User Agent to Internet Explorer's one (Windows MSIE 6.0), it will make the website "think" your using Internet Explorer.

First, quit Safari, if it’s already running. Then, open the Terminal application and copy/paste the line below, and hit return. You may be prompted for an admin password.

    defaults write com.apple.safari IncludeDebugMenu 1

Now just relaunch Safari and you’ll see a new pull-down menu called Debug. The menu has a wealth of things you can do, one of them is change Safari’s User Agent.

If you decide you would rather not have the menu active, simply quit Safari, go back to the Terminal and copy/paste the same line again, except change the “1″ at the end to a zero, like this…

    defaults write com.apple.safari IncludeDebugMenu 0
