    Hi everyone,

I have a freshly installed Vista on a Latitude D 630 plus the motherboard has just been exchanged ...and since all this happened, the bluetooth adapter doesn't like me any more.

The LED NEVER comes on now and when I right click on the icon in the system tray it does not show the option any more to switch on/off bluetooth.

Device manager shows no issues. Installed all the latest drivers.

    Anyone any ideas?

    Cheers,
    mC.

You need to install the Dell software that will enable the Bluetooth.

    All Drivers

    Dell QuickSet (required)

Ok then, uninstall the Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator under the Hardware tab in Bluetooth Devices. Or do it through the Device Manager:

Reboot and it should be working for you then. Make sure you remove the Microsoft Drivers as well so this won't happen anymore.

There's an option in the bios for switching on and off. Check that it is enabled

    F2
    Wireless => Internal Bluetooth

    Check that its enabled

    Hi,

    thanks for all the replies.

The bluetooth is enabled in the bios.
The MS Enumerator came back after restarting, so I'm not sure what the story there is. Here a pic of dev manager:

When you uninstall it, there should be an option to remove the Microsoft drivers as well.

If not, try this method instead - http://www.motioncomputing.com/kb/article.aspx?id=10092

You got the wireless/bluetooth switch on the left hand side of the machine turned to on?
