95 BMW 316i Compact Sunroof

I've got a 1995 BMW 316i Compact. It's got an electric sunroof but it will not open until I'm driving for at least 10 minutes. It says nothing about it in the manual so I'm not sure if its a safety feature of some description. Anyone know anything about it?? It's wrecking my head. I get to open my sunroof as I'm entering…

It should always work when the ignition's on.
