    Hi,

    I'm doing an essay for college on the introduction of tv in Ireland.
    These are the two titles:

    Outline and discuss the key cultural and political factors surrounding the introduction of television in Ireland in 1961.

    Critically evaluate the effect that broadcasting has had on Irish society since the introduction of television in 1961.

    Would anybody know of any good books that would help with my research or any slant I could take with my essay?

    I'm completely screwed!

    Oh I remember doing something similar, but it was two years ago...
    Check out Kevin Rockett, I remember he knew what he was talking about.

    And... I talked a lot about how Irish Gov sold out on Irish film, choosing to use it for economic gain instead of creative gain, by having the tax benefits for foreign films; Saving Private Ryan etc... coming to Ireland.
    That was towards the 90's though. Don't remember much else, sorry.
