this is probably really really embarrassingly simple, but ive searched the manual and played with anything i think looks like the solution but had no joy... is there a length quantize for midi notes within logic pro 8?

Click the Midi part.. Go into the Piano Roll.. select what you want.. then go into Edit or Function (Function I think..)

    You are looking for "Transform".

Very last option on the menu is Note Length Quantize.

Brings you into a parameter screen. If you mess around with the lengths under the "fix" box, then you should be able to do what you need.

Lots of other parameters in there too if you are feeling adventurous :D
