    Hello,

Has anyone any experience witrh regards how to become a reseller of rugby goods such as Canterbury, official Munster & Leinster jerseys\clothing range?

Whom should I contact? Would I need to obtain a licence of some sort even if selling on eBay?

There is a website called SaleHoo which hosts a variety of wholesale and dropship products. Would I need to purchase my stock from a site such as this?

    Many thanks.

    Regards.

Ok, I'd say the 1st people to contact would be the manufacturers of the shirts. Don't know who supplies the shirts fro Leinster and Munster but in the case of Canterbury....contact Canterbury. If they won't sell to you direct, they'll recommend a wholesaler/distributer.

Your next problem is if they will actually sell you the items. Big brands don't really want their brands being soild on the likes of Ebay as it somewhat devalues them a bit. I have experience of this as a friend works for one of the biggest clothing brands in the world. I asked him if he could set me up as a client so I could sell them on Ebay. He said he wouldn't supply anyone without a suitable business premisies ie a shop.

Might be different with sportswear so give it a go. What's the worst that can happen........They say "no"?!

By the way, I googled Salehoo and this was the 1st thing I saw

First of Canterbury do not sell direct to Ireland, it is a marketing company who does all the Canterbury stuff. Therefore I would assume they have an all Ireland license and thus it would be impossible to get anywhere by contacting Canterbury directly.
I'm 99.99% sure of this fact.
As for reselling rugby gear in general, I looked into doing this earlier in the year in an online capacity, ie. setting up an online sports shop dedicated to selling rugby gear.

It didn't take me long to see that there are tons and tons and tons of websites doing this, many in england and some even offering free shipping to Ireland.

I think there are one or two big players in the market, and possibly there is the chance of gaining a small percentage if you develop a great product and good reputation.
But for me anywhere I decided to give it a miss and look elsewhere.

I'll try and find out the name of that marketing company for you. Will definately know by monday anyway.

surely you can buy any brand on ebay and if sellers are doing it wothout liscence or consent they can be easily found out?

I wanted to set up an online soccer shop dedicated solely to football shirts (old and new) a few years ago as a thing on the side but there was another website at the time that did it brilliantly and really cheaply so I didn't bother.
