Maybe this is a silly question, but here goes. I am looking to buy some new frames, but I'm not willing to spend a fortune on frames. I have been looking on eBay and seen some that I like. Thing is, it's mostly sunglasses frames I like.

My question is, would there be any problem adding perscription lenses to frames like these?:

Would love these babies, but they are far to expensive. Has anybody seen anything like them?

ye they both could be used for prescription lenses.
if your prescription is over -3 yad prob have to get the police ones thinned as theres no frame at the edges and yas have edge thickness.

2nd ones I think would be terrible as normal glasses. could be done but they really are a real sunglass frame

I think the first frame looks more like a sunglasses frame than the first. I really like the second frame. The second one is developed by a company in the States http://www.gunnar.com for computer users. The lenses are tinted to combat the screen and I think they magnify it slightly as well. No retailers in Ireland though is the only problem. :(

Not sure about second frame as the link wouldnt open for me. In relation to the first frame- it is quite large but your personal choice, its a "nylon supra" frame which means the lenses arent held in place by screws but by what looks like fishing gut which sits into a groove. As it is a plastic frame there may also be a special piece inserted into the plastic (hard to see in pic), because of this you may be charged a little bit more for supra glazing and make sure you bring to a good lab as it may get damaged if trainee techs get their hands on it
