Anytime i try to play games or open big program's the computer freezes, And when i click about three times it beeps once,Then i have to turn it off and back on again, There has been a lack in performance lately.

I can use smaller applications and play music, But moving large amounts of files can crash it.

    Any suggestions?

4GB of RAM, 4 slots with 1GB in each

I had the same problem when running games recently.
Turned out to pc tools firewall was causing the crash. Changed it for comodo and all was fine again.
Chances are its nothing to do with your problem, but just in case.

Might be overheating if the CPU fan failed.
CPU's will intentionally halt all processing if they get hot enough to cause damage.

    Might be overheating

    +1

I would first of all check and see is the CPU heatsink clogged with dust and then run a CPU torture programme like Prime95

I took the heatsink off and cleaned it fully, I then cleaned the surface of the CPU and applied new thermal paste, That didn't do anything.

Could it possibly be hard Drive failure?

    unlikley

have you tried running the torture test on your CPU? Prime 95 will show up a flaky CPU in a couple of minutes. If your CPU passes, I would move onto your RAM, try running Memtest and see is one of your sticks gone bad.

When you say 'crash' do you mean BSOD or total lockup or explorer stops responding or what exactly?

Is it the same large file that's causing the problem?

After trying the RAM numerous times, For some reason it works now? :o

But i do have another problem, The computer is trying to start up but turns off, I keep clicking the power button and eventually it comes on after a few tries, Then it says 'PCI Express card is operating in X1 mode'

The Graphics card is an Asus GTX260, My older 9600GT works grand.
