I know smebody asked this question already, but I can't find the thread.

If I was to get a different PS3, is it possible to keep my current username on the new one, or do I have to create a completely new account?

You can have an account activated and it's associated content on up to 5 PS3's.

    So no worries!

This true and its one of the more awesome things about PS3 and PSN.

I have shared my PS3 account with my brother on his PS3 and he can play the games downloaded to his PS3 using my PSN account.

No, I mean if I was selling my current one, and getting a newer one in return. Would that still work?

Yes, its exactly the same as mentioned above. In that case I would just de-authorize my account on the current PS3 through "Account Management" first.

    Yes is the answer.

I have two PS3's (one came free with a Bravia tv) and have downloaded content (COD4 & WaW map packs for example) onto both of them but only paid once.

Sorry, just noticed you asked two questions. Yes to the first one and no to the second

But I wouldn't be able to keep all my trophies?

Your trophies once synced are associated with your PSN account not your actual PS3 console.

Yes you will AFAIK trophies are saved to the PSN and not the user account!

Ever get any trouble on COD4 with it? I played on 2 different consoles and when I was on the second there were slight irregularities, like sometimes my xp would go beyond the next rank without ranking me and the bar that fills up as you get closer the next level would just keep going on past its border. Would then rank up when I returned to the original PS3 where I started playing.

No, can't say I've had any problems with it.

I've heard people mentioning things like this but touch wood has never happened to me.
