PRSI/Social Welfare

I applied for the dole approx. 2 weeks ago. I've paid a serious amount of PRSI since I began working 5 years ago, I only made one claim back in September but never received payment as they claimed I hadn't given my proof of address... therefore someone told me I should be drawing PRSI stamps NOT receiving social welfare and that I should be sorted in 2 weeks?! Anyone have any information or advice?!

Also, I was at the dentist today and it was still €60 even though my PRSI was supposed to cover it? All I had was a check up and an x-ray and received a prescription. I haven't been to a dentist in about a year and a half but this sounds crazy expensive to me?!

They should be able to back date the PRSI credits for you if you ask nicely
