Toyota Levin, is gearbox gone?

    In have toyota levin 97 year, this problem began about 2 weeks ago, when i change to gear 3, there is some sound coming out from gearbox and its a bit hard to put in the 3rd gear, what is a problem could be? do i have to change the geabox?

    mite just be a synchro, is it a crunching sound ?? Had the same prob with a gsr lancer nothing major just dont get screwed by some fella that says she needs a gearbox !!

    If the gear stick has become loose it could be the gear linkage after loosening

    Yea exactly its crunching sound when it goes to 3rd gear. And how much is that cost you to fix that thing?

    No gear stick does not loose, its just crunching sound when go to 3rd gear, and the rest gears work fine.

    start with the simple things such as gear linkage bushes. then move onto engine mounts, could possibly be these either....
