so i found a kona yeeha yesterday(the commuting one) on some grassy wasteland. ended up with some parts & the frame and fork- going to build it for a friend for next week
but if you know someone who had one nicked in the last 6 months, pm me and prove its theirs and they get it. not a full bike and any chancers i will gladly meet...and beat.:pac:

proof its yours/theirs - colour, frame, size, components, modifactions etc

    regards
    Karma

    no (Kona)
and not enough info(sean k), what size and and its id mark- this is a one of a kind version- while looking at the customisation, i stil dont understand why it was done, but ok...

    next?
but already building it, so rightful owner come forward or my friend gets a nice re-built bike.
    regards all.

A post on boards is hardly the best way to go about doing this. It's unethical and frankly I think you just did it as a token gesture to clear your conscience.

Obviously the correct procedure is to inform the gardai and the bike will be given to you along with ownership thereof after a year and a day if the original owner is not found.

You're better off keeping your mouth shut than posting on a forum in case it comes back to haunt you if the rightful owner sees you or your friend cycling around on their property.

    That said, enjoy the bike.

ah no problem there sean k, i have no conscience...(the internet, we never know who we are insulting)
the bike frame(not a full bike) would have ended up in the crusher in rathmines council. i did check with cyclelogical and 2 friends of mine that had this model of bike, not theirs.
if it was a full bike, it would never have made it here and it would have unfortunately ended missing from the garda station it would have ended up in, previous experience has proved this.

most people would have left this where it was until the council cleaned the green area( could have been there a while...)

i put it up here to find the owner and if not it was going to someone who had theirs stolen. I am fixing it up with spare parts i have at no cost to the new owner.
thought i was doing the right thing.

Tbh I was playing devil's advocate. If you and, more importantly, your friend are aware and comfortable with it then I've no beef with it.

Get off that fence and get back on yer bike mate :P

I have had two of my bikes robbed on me(broke into my house twice for them) so i am not endorsing the buying of stolen bikes but this would have never been put back on the road. my friend is aware of where it comes from, so it is ok on that. maybe you would not do what i am doing and thats fair enough, we all have our own viewpoints. btw they only come in red :D
