Halt to most M7 work!

Due to the rapidly deteriorating public finances, all work on the M7 (except the LSRR and M7/M8 PPPs) is to cease immediately. As both the Nenagh to Limerick and Castletown to Nenagh schemes are under contract, the state is negotiating a compensation package with all of the construction companies involved. However, the M6 (mostly PPP), M8 (Mitchelstown to Fermoy scheme well advanced) and M9 (wonder why the M9?) will go ahead as planned. However, the M18 Gort to Crusheen will be halted in the same way as the M7, but will be restarted as part of a wider M17/M17 PPP project. The M20 is also going ahead as a PPP scheme. However, there's no future for the M7 (at least this side of 2015). The N11/N30 Newross scheme has also been dropped. However, the M11 Arklow to Rathnew will go ahead in 2015.

However, the above proposals might not get very far given the day that's in it!!! :D

I hope this is a sick joke on your part, I&P. Where did you hear all this?

    April fools:p:D

Joke aside if any road scheme gets the chop it should be the M9. They can't allow the almost finished M7 at Limerick to just be left there.

Borrow money I don't care, build with no money it's gone to the stage you have no choice but to complete it. it's not acceptable. Fianna fail gave their word and their only promise:mad: They have a responsibility to keep their word.

I forgot it was Fools' Day. My heart!

A very good joke. Wouldnt be too funny if it actually happened. Now the Nenagh - Limerick road isint far off completion so that kinda gave it away. :D

The M9 has some sections of it opened already whereas the M7 hasnt any sections of it complete yet. They are both due to be completed next year

All inter urbans get the same priority.

How many broken promises have we came across already?. I wouldnt trust them one bit and will only be happy when I see all the schemes finished.

I know but worst case scenario, I would put priority for the N7/N8 in any case. But if two schemes of the M7 would halt, you couldn't allow other schemes like the M9 be getting the money at these rates. But anyway it was a joke.

It's sickinging. Roads is fairly a cheapish form of expenditure and most durable way of pumping money into the capital projects.

Like the satanic EU, that we are now realising. You'd never see them put money into projects such as upgrading the health service, metro, Interconnetor, education;)

But to reallllllllly point out, after 6 years late, and promising to the point of god's name in vain. They still ****ed this promise up.

2012 is coming for a good reason and a new galaxtic day is turning;) All the crap is been sh!tted out for a good reason. Alot of cleaning is going on.

I know it's April Fool's Day but really, don't start with all this nonsense again, please... my head won't take it.

Then again, given the day that's in it, maybe you just meant it as a joke?

Much as I enjoy an April fools gag , let's not joke about a massive number of people loosing their jobs.

No it's just been realistic if the worst case scenario was confronted.

Priority would be the way to do things, and sacrifices would be made.

Nearly had me worried there for a minute...

But the fact of the matter is, unless a certain scheme (who shall remain nameless on this thread) picks up, then two of the MIUs will not be finished by end-2010.

Our solar system is reaching it's height of a full galaxtic day. The very same way we experience day and night from circling the sun. The sun circles the galaxy. The light and energy from the centre of the galaxy is now reaching full capacity, this is basically the solar system going from morningtime to day. This is what is causing our solar system to be more active around this time. This is what is believed to cause the bulk of global warming an solar flares from the sun. Also it's a fact that every planet within our solar system is been affected, as a result of this reaching of full day, all planets are experiencing "global warming"

It seems a bit way out there, but it's really simple. Galaxtic day is 5,125 years long. We are all not aware of it. But nature is at it's works;) As it always has been.

Perhaps mysterious (who frequents the Conspiracy Theory forum quite a bit) is referring to this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_Doomsday_prediction#December_21.2C_2012

As for global warming, that's clearly the Venetians' doing. They are terraforming our planet surreptitiously to make it more like their own. They have infiltrated the Department of Transport and the NRA. Fred Barry, in fact, is one of them, while Noel Dempsey is really an android built by the Venetians' long term ally, the Mercurians. You've all seen War of the Worlds, the film in which genocide-capable tripod destroyers emerge from the bowels of our cities, having lain dormant beneath the streets for years. Well, what do you think Transport 21 is all about? This is also why the 2010 target for MIU completion must be met: after Roadbridge, BAM and Somague Bowen have installed the tripods beneath the CBMs of the MIUs, the next two years will be spent preparing the Venetian colony ships for the impending invasion. Just you wait. The economic meltdown is merely a distraction.

thats probably more likely than what was in that link :D

Furet, what I stated was FACT.

Look up a galaxtic day. It's our solar system doing one revolution around this galaxy. Incase you don't know the name of our own galaxy. It's called the Milky way. We are heading into a full galaxtic day. It is already causing major changes not only to earth, but the entire solar system right now ;)

It ain't conspiracy. It's just telling you don't know what your talking about. It's pretty real basic facts.

yes a toll bridge for a project the tax payer is funding is really not believable. I enjoyed reading the article though. :D

I'm sure I&P didn't mean anything by it, by the way.

Bam have huge amounts of plant that are/will idle fairly soon. In November they had a lot of machinery sitting idle in Aughinish. Wa'aford job nearing completion. Since they subsumed Logan's a few years ago and took ultimate control they have a huge arsenal of machinery at their ultimate disposal.

They bought a CAT 385 on one of the old jobs that I worked on a few years ago. Filled an A40 in a couple of buckets. Awesome machine in full flight.

Well the Limerick end seems to be picking up and the Castletown part is starting to get alot of pace going in recent weeks. With the good weather and fairly easy topsoil area around Moneygall, all the bridges will be complete by this month:D

But if the Portlaoise M7/M8 scheme gets any slower, then Mountrath and Abbeyleix will be like waiting years for a bypass like Kildare had been.

    Sorry mate!

I didn't mean to be so insensitive - the joke was supposed to be on the road enthusiasts (on this forum), laughing about the mere idea that a motorway would be halted mid-way through its construction. I also was using April 1st for a little bit of light heartedness amid all the doom and gloom - not to mention the upcoming budget.

Looking at it from your perspective though, it's not quite as funny now. Speaking of jobs and the economy, I am deeply angry that the people primarily responsible for the mess that we're in, are still unpunished and partying while many people suffer. I said on different forum that I would imprison the people responsible (bankers, regulators, politicians etc) and foreclose on everything that they've got - the money raised should subsequently be put back into the economy.

    Again, Apologies! :o
