Is it true that consultants play around and are arrogant with Doctors speak and code words in notes etc, or is that a myth?

Does anyone have any experience of consultants, are they overly arrogant?

And also where do you find out about rep of consultants and opinion of them?

I've seen 5 consultants, 4 of 5 were lovely, explained everything, answered anything I queried, asked me about a million questions to get a better understanding of my condition, told me about future follow ups and options, wrote detailed helpful letters to my GP.

The 1 who wasn't lovely was extremely arrogant, but tbh, any profession has people who aren't very nice.

I dont think consultants "play around" any more than anyone else. The only place you can see the "Rep" of consultants is on www.ratemyhospital.com and only favourable comments will be allowed to be posted.

I've found consultants to be exactly like the population at large. A few are dicks. A few are absolute gems. Most lie somewhere in the middle. Just like any other professional group.
