850 lb ft of torque (yours from 1800rpm)

Wonder how long the box and clutch would last? You'd have some fun in that car...

    From the article:
This - allied with a torque multiplication system - allows for high power output at low revs and also reduces fuel consumption: “If you cut your engine revs by 50%, you automatically save 50% fuel,” says Phil Bevan, of Trident. “You need a large engine that produces a lot of torque at very low revs in the first place, which flies in the face of everything that is preached about needing small cars to produce good fuel consumption. Our car dispels this theory. A 6-litre engine doing 500rpm is more efficient that a 3-litre engine doing 1000rpm or a 1.5 litre engine doing 1500rpm.”

It looks good - I'll give it that. It would be a nice yoke to take out for the weekend.

But for now, as the recession continues, I'll keep my Citroën C5 1.6 HDi and its 1100km to a tank.........

thank god someone spotted this car!,anyone think it looks exactly like a dodge/chrysler viper,it even has the "bubbles" in the roof and the back of it is very similar to the vipers, they even mention it has the engine of a truck which is exactly what a viper was!! it really pissed me off when in gear praised the car and didnt even acknowledge the fact is a complete rip off arriving 10 years late, more actually!

    and its a diesel:eek:

ps i know a viper didnt have a diesel and wasnt exactly fuel efficent but they may aswell have asked dodge to give them plans for the viper:mad: http://www.freewebs.com/mostwantedmotorsracing/DodgeViperGTS.jpg

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

@Hotwheels - the torque figure seemed too high to me too. It must have been a typo as the official website states it is only 520lb ft (786NM) :D

The Iceni goes a lot further on a tank than that diesel guzzler of yours :)

Happened across this yesterday - hadn't heard of it before:

    http://www.audi.ie/audi/ie/en2/new_cars/q7/q7_v12tdi_quattro/engine.html

    Audi's new V12 TDI engine - 6.0L, 500 bhp, 740 ft lb torque, 0 - 100 5.5s for the Q7. 24 mpg.

    :D:D:D
