    Hello,

I was wondering if there are any Synth Doctor s in Ireland?

My Roland Jupiter 4 has a broken voice,
and also needs to be calibrated with a osciloscope.

Anyone out there who has good experience in these things.

    Im from Galway myself,

    Thanks

TBH, given the weight of the beast you're nearly better of learning to do it yourself. Analog Synthesis has its own particular crosses to bear, especially given that most replacement parts are a good 30 years out of production. Calibration is very straightforward though, start with that - huge amount of how-tos on the web.

(btw, where the hell did you get a J-4 in this country?. I dream of an MKS-80 at some point, but a proper Jupiter/CS-80 is literally my lifes pipedream)

So no Synth Doctor wirthin Ireland :(

I can get all the replacement parts myself.
I just don't have any know-how about repairing it.

And i don't have a osciloscope for calibration either.

    :(

Ps. I got all my equipment sended over.
But The Jupiter4 is the heaviest for sure (weight wise)

    Hi DutchMan
I calibrated my Sequential Pro One myself following the sevice notes. Not too bad really as no oscilloscope needed. Looking at the service notes, yours is harder to do.
I have also repaired my Roly System 100m, Korg MS10's, Moog Satellite and Prodigy. It's a pity the old beasts fail and now the spares are harder to find, it takes longer to get done. The damp here in Sligo doesn't help either.
If you consider the UK for repairs, a trip to the north will save a fortune in postage (you just need a return address up there).

This guy was repairing Gary Numan's gear last time we met in the uk - http://www.antech-systems.com/index.htm ... south-east uk ... but as your synth is heavy, postage could be prohibitive. Good luck to you - if I find any info, I'll pass it on.

Old post I know.. But theres a place in Lanesboro, Co.Longford - not too far away from Galway called Acoustagraph Electronics. 0433321649.

Its actually on the west side of the shannon there. They do repairs & would tell you whats what before they do any work.

Did you ever get it fixed up Dutchman?

John Henson did a great job replacing two voices in my Juno106 highly recommended. Turnaround time was only a few days.
