    Was thinking of gettign a LG Renoir and i've a few questions.

    Can this phone be tethered to a laptop?
    If so how much would 10gb download a month be?
    What is the upload speed? (Considering the Renoir can download at 7.2mbs)]

    Not sure of the phone (I assume you mean use the phone as a modem);;

    10 gig a month is quite a bit, certainly more than u will ever need for surfing and email and many hours of youtube - check out somehting like http://www.broadband-expert.co.uk/broadband/broadband-wizard.php or http://www.vodaphone.com.au/personal/live/internet/calculator/index.htm or google internet usage calculator

    - depends on the network/package/coverage/number of users alongside you etc, it defo wont be anywhere near the dl limit on the phone/technology you use, I thing 3g broadband on average can be likened ot 1meg home broadband

    I'm looking to tether the phone to my laptop, and then share the connection through my laptop to my PS3, so would it be enough to be playable online? Would need about 512kb-2mb upload speed

    I think it should be possible (i.e. use phone as modem then use internet connection sharing wizzard or something?), but how you do that aside - the speed depends on a number of factors - i.e. where are you, what network are you looking at, what is coverage like in your area etc.. I think 1/2-2mb upload may be pushing it a little, but cannot say for certain, as I dont use mobile bb, hopefully someone else will post, in the meantime, post some speciict about your intended setup

    edit- here is three.ie's specs for highest mobile bb package:
    Download Speed Up to 7.2MBs
    Upload Speed Up to 2MBs
    Data allowance 15GB
    Monthly cost €19.99*
    Out of bundle
    cost (per MB) €0.05
    Contract 12 mths.

    but this will all depend on many other factors!

    The ping times for a lot, if not all, the mobile operators’ broadband services are dire, e.g. 100ms+, so I doubt it would be worth your while playing online with your PS3 as described above.

    You might find this O2 forum post on the same subject of some use.
