Now that we have longer evenings, a round of Par 3 golf is now possible in the evenings.

Can anyone recommend a good Par 3 course in West Dublin?

    cheers

Only played one, in Mulhuddart somewhere. Blanchardstown golf centre i think it was called, has an 18 hole par 3 and a driving range as far as i can remember

That one is closed now unfortunately. Only other one i can think of is the one on the Ballybogan Rd in Dublin, between Glasnevin and Finglas.

Theres one in lucan called Liffey Valley par 3, its on the n4 at the first Leixlip exit!
Dont know about it being the best par 3 but its the only one I know of.
Back 9 is good enough but its closed anytime its really wet out!

The one in Blanchardstown was great - played it a lot when I worked out that direction. There's one near Swords(Balheary). Can be a bit of nightmare up there sometimes though. You can get stuck behind groups of 7 or 8 with one bag between them.

I got a bit lost heading to the one in leixlip a couple of weeks ago and came across one in Newcastle, it wasnt bad for €9. Pretty flat course mostly using a 9 iron though...i think there were only a few holes where a different club was needed. It was well signposted and there was also a sign for another par 3 1km further out the road.

Yeah i know that course, Leixlip is a bit better than it, few hills and stuff on the back 9!

If you are coming from Dublin take the first exit for leixlip at mccoy motors toyota garage, then turn right at the top of the slip road and cross back over the N4, you will then come to a roundabout left leads you to Leixlip village, right leads you back to the N4 and there is an entrance straight ahead that brings you into the par 3! I've never seen a signpost for it anywhere!

Athgoe par 3, near Newcastle, is great. Very hilly mind, you'll be out of puff more than once. Some really nice holes though.

Yeah athgoe is much better than liffey valley and the driving range newcastle one imo. Think it was 10-12 quid

Think Athgoe is e12, but haven't been there in a while. Always dead quiet, even on a scorching saturday or sunday in June. Really tough greens too, it's a great test of your putting. Played there a few times with a mate who's off 6 and he was struggling on the greens

Athgoe is a 30 second drive from where i work! I have played it twice and its nice, decent greens and smashing views of Dublin on a fine day. You will enjoy it
