    Hi folks,

    I have a 1990 mk2 golf 1.3 that i've installed a 2L 16v engine, box, brakes, suspension etc from a 1990 passat into.

I cannot get remotely reasonable insurance for it.

I'm a 29yo male, 6 years NCB on my daily driver policy, no points, claims or convictions and I have 1 years NCB on a second policy.

The cheapest quote I've received was €1799 fully comp, €1700 tpft.

And it was a major challenge to get that quote.

brittons, xs direct, quinn, none of em will insure it.

where do I go from here.

I'm only interested in fully above board options, not leaving it as a 1.3 or putting it in my mam's name type stuff.

Oh I've also gotten a quote for a part time trader policy for €2,500 so that option's not looking too hot either

Thats honestly the kind of quote i expected you to get.

Get an engineers report and then approach quinn again. You may have better luck going through brokers. See the evo thread for recommendations on brokers.
